I find that when I use (if this is not proper to mention please remove it) DVD X-Copy Platinum to back up a movie that is larger then 4.71gb and needs compression I get artifacting toward the end of the disc when I watch it. If I back the same disc using DVD-Shrink I get no artifacting at all.
    Anyone seen this before?
    Thoughts, opinions?
    Thanks

I had the same issue when i used dvd x copy. You can't really control the amount of compression with that old software so at the end it dies out. I did Private Ryan with dvd copy x and it artifacts becuse its compressed so heavily.

You know that is what I thought. That the compresson xcopy uses is vastly inferior to what shrink uses.
I still use it for the smaller discs, but will never use it for the larger ones.
Thanks for the input. I glad it wasn't just me.
