The way I took alot of the guides I saw was that you only had to leave AC3 5.1-ch English and all the sounds of your DVD would work. However, I have done this on several burns and some of the extras are without sound. What is the problem here? I must be misunderstanding the instructions.

AC3 5.1 is for the main movie. You need to leave the other english tracks too for the extras.

You can leave 5.1 in but you have to have a high quality player/stereo system. If you don't then the 5.1 option won't do you much good.

The ac3 5.1 will downmux into 2 channel stereo even if you don't have a dolby 5.1 system.

See when I replay certain extras in my DVD Drive on my PC and in my PS2 they will not have sound. All I left on the disc was AC3 5.1.

So on the next movie I am doing....It should look like this?

A lot of times the extras do not have ac3 5.1 audio streams and therefor you need to check the ac3 2-ch also for whatever language you desire.

I rarely use shrink anymore but regardless of the transcoder or encoder used I usually keep all the english audio streams except dts. As you can see the ac3-2ch streams don't take up much space. Some might disagree but I usually keep some extras and don't want to chance loosing the audio streams for them.
