ok so i looked around and didnt really find anything, but if this question has already been asked then maybe someone can just post a link but i have a digi cam that records into asf files.. and i was wondering if i can convert them into mpeg or even avi files. avi would be better cuz i am looking to make this into a dvd
avi would be better cuz i am looking to make this into a dvd? DVD video uses MPEG-2, so surely your statement would make more sense if reversed? "i was wondering if i can convert them into avi or even mpeg files. mpeg would be better cuz i am looking to make this into a dvd" Anything that can take input via directshow should work. Otherwise mencoder or ffmpeg should work.
what do you mean by directshow? Did you mean a direct plug coming from the camera into a plug somewhere on my computer?
There are some all-in-one software may meet your needs, such as Xilisoft DVD Creator and Super DVD Creator. It can straightly creat DVD from asf files. You can get the free trial from http://www.dvdtool.net/dvdcreator/xilidvdcreator.htm http://www.dvdtool.net/dvdcreator/superdvdcreator.htm .
