asf, wmv, avi, mpeg to divx

    is it possible to convert this said file types to a divx format so that I can then burn it on to a dvd using a divx to dvd type program

    You want to convert to .divx just so you can then convert to DVD?
    Bad idea for two reasons:
    1) You waste time encoding, just to re-encode.
    2) You lose quality.

    Better to just convert directly the asf, wmv, avi, mpeg to DVD or DVD compliant MPEG2.

    i think divxtodvd can go wmv to dvd aswell as mpeg to dvd but not sure on asf?

    wmv = asf and yes if DivXtoDVD is still using libavcodec/format for input then it should support both, although I don't think it suppports WMA pro, lossless, etc.
