Just got this computer. Recorded a CD successfully about 2 weeks ago. Now I keep getting medium error. When I asked Ashampoo's help desk about it they said I needed to upgrade my firmware, and from their records it was a "calibration error". I updated firmware, and have changed to 5 different media types...and still no success. Can anyone help me out. On a side note. My kids downloaded Nero, I thought there might have been a conflict, so I removed it....but still no luck. Any help would be very much appreciated.
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5555 Use the guide above for ImgBurn to create an audio cd. Imgburn creates a log which can be used for troubleshooting. A (power) calibration error refers to a problem that the burner has in setting the laser power for a particular blank. It's generally seen in relation to DVDs which are much more fussy than CDs. I doubt the disks are at fault here (have you burned a data DVD to see if that's also a problem) The log file is found under 'Help' on the top menu. If it cannot be resolved at Afterdawn, if necessary go to the ImgBurn forum, post the log and ask for help. It's a very active forum with fast responses.

Is that a Dell PC. It looks like a firmware version D400 here. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1319-file_R218167.exe.html Let ImgBurn check for an update.
Updated my firmware, just realized that I had it, but it did not take when I first tried to install it. Now getting the same error with this error log. None of the +'s are opened because it is extremely long. If you would let me know which ones to open I can post the Ashampoo log. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
If it's the same calibration error, then you should consider posting an the ImgBurn log on the ImgBurn Forum and see if the creator of ImgBurn (LightningUK!) can assist.
