Hi everyone. I have a problem, one of my friends bought a back of his long lost dvd's which is BENHUR in two CD XVID (AUTO GK) RIP. Audio format is in Mp3 VBR, the problem is aspect of the movie looks wrong. People looks tall. The movie encoded resolution is 544X272. But it looks like an 16:9 movie encoded in 4:3. So when i play the movie in MPLAYER, i have to force the aspect to 2:35:1 Then it looks ok. Does anyone know how to re-encode it in propper format? What is it's propper format?, I am sure that autogk has taken 16:9 but still the movie looks tall. If there is a method of re encoding movie with least amount of time and loss of quality please let me know. I tried VirtualDUBMOD,I can't figure which resolution i should use with RESIZE FILTER. I have a small chart of aspect ratios. Under 2:35:1 I can use 512X216 or 576X248 which one should i use?, Current resolution is 544X272.

Can i try fast recompress with xvid codec? will i have a big loss of quality in the movie?. Aight, i am making people lost here. What i wanna know is, How do i fix it's aspect ratio with least amount of time and quality loss!

    Thanks a billion.

Easiest way would be to change the PAR using MPEG4Modifier. That way the player simply resizes and you don't waste time or quality re-encoding.

Small problem Celtic_d. actually a big problem, Mpeg4modiefier is not running in my machine, i don't know if it is because of that .net framework problem or the file is not a propper file.I downloaded it from the official site and i got a file which doesn't look like a propper exe file. when i click it some error message comes. :(

Sounds like it could be the framework. Do you have .NET Framework 2.0 installed on your system and not just 1.1?
