In the command box, add a space and either XP32 for Pentium I/II/III/IV processors or XP64 for Itanium processors. The command should look like: c:adaptecaspiinstall.bat XP32 or c:adaptecaspiinstall.bat XP64.

My question is I am using an AMD Athlon XP processor, what is my command line going to look like? Or do I even need to do this?

My computer is HP Pavilion a510n
    3000+(2.10GHz) AMD Athlon XP processor
    512MB PC2700RPM DDR SDRAM memory
120GB 7200RPM Ultra DMA hard drive
    My burner is SOny DRU-700A

AMD Athlon XP is a 32 bit processor.

I would instead suggest ForceASPI 1.8 and ASPI Check.

Simply extract the .zip file to a directory somewhere. Open a Command Prompt and run the appropriate .BAT file(s) as required.

Run dumpASPI to backup your current ASPI layer
Run instASPI to install the new ASPI layer
    Reboot your PC
Run aspichk to see if everything worked OK

Is there a reason you need to install ASPI?

MysticE I'm not sure if I need to, I'm using DVDXCOPY Platinum and in a user's guide it say's that I need to do that. I am tired of movies freezing on me...
I know it is probably the media I was using (Memorex, or TDK), so I have orderd some Ritek Ridata discs (branded). So I am just trying to make sure that that I have everything in order when I try my burn with the new media.

    Thanks for the repiles!!!!!

    Veblin,
I did the aspichk and it came up as none installed? Do I do the forced install? Do I need it?

    Thanks

I wouldn't bother with installing any ASPI yet. That's probably not your problem.

Do your back ups work on the computer? What brand burner?

I am not sure on my computer? No one has ever asked me that. Sony DRU-700A and I did update to the new firmware. I am not burning dual-layer, disc's are still to much money.

    Thanks again...

I did just try to play a burned movie on my computer, and it did skip and freeze???
