ASPI

    I'm running Nero 6. It says System ASPI is not installed.
    I can't burn movies , is this why and if it is where can I get it from...Sorry I don't know much about this so I need all the help I can get..Thanks a bunch.....

    Sorry to post on someone elses thread but I can't find mind...I'm needing help also with ASPI file...I d/l Dvdfab on a computer that is running windows 98SE and when I bring it up it tells me ASPI layer is out of date..You need to d/l and install ASPI layer at http://www.dvdfab.com/download/setupASPI.exe...but the site is not coming up when I click on the link provided...Locoeny I think you did try to help me in my orginal post I made which I can't find right now...I went to the site and d/l the software to check out my ASPI but it doesn't update it for me...I also put Nero on here and when I looked at the tools it tells me my ASPI is good..so I'm not sure why I can't Dvdfab to work on this computer...Thanks again for any help

    Thanks for your help...I now have ASPI on my computer but I still can't burn a movie...I can burn music cds and burn data cds and dvds.I quess I'll have to get someone in to check it out...

    Would you be willing to try some freeware alternatives to see if it is a software problem?

    Try Burrrn! for audio discs and Imgburn for your DVD burning.

    Your firmware is out of date, current version is KY06:

    DMA is off for your optical drives, it needs to be on. Here is a guide:

    This means that your are asking your drive to do something that is doesn't know how to do. Fixing the DMA and/or updating the firmware may fix this error.

    My burner is now working.Thank you very much. I still have one more
    problem,I don't think it's a bad one.I hope. When I try to view a
    movie with Nero all I get is sound,no picture.Is there something I need to download....
