Alright, I have an Acer Aspire 5515 that is about 4 months old. My fiancee downloaded something and then it started giving me the BSOD every time I tried to get online. As long as I didn't try to connect to the network it would run fine, but as soon as it started connecting it would give me the BSOD. After troubleshooting and running McAfee in safe mode, it would find a virus, get rid of it, and when I'd restart it would do the same thing. Then it finally let me get online but it sounded like it was playing two radio stations at once, running the CPU at 100% and eventually crashing. I read the error codes with the BSOD and it was the "cannot access harddrive" error. While in windows it kept switching from native to AHSCI(I believe it is) and locking out the harddrive. When I'd restart it would be back on native. Any ideas as to what this virus is?

Hey, thanks for the help with that but I got tired of it and reformatted it. All of the stuff I wanted was on another HDD anyway so it wasn't a big loss. BUT, if you want run on over to my other thread, my other laptop is having problems too, .
