The question is, if the motherboard- ASRock 939Dual-SATA2- supports 1000mhz MAX bus speed and the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ has 1600mhz bus speed, will they work together? Cos' the CPU is faster than the max support speed of the motherboard :S I'm confused...

    Edit--
If it works, are there any downsides to it?

Dude, you are confusing apples and hand grenades. THERE IS NO PROBLEM. You need to do a lot more reading before I can even begin to explain where you are confused. There are MULTIPLE buses on every PC, the 1000MHz bus is the Hyper Transport, not to be confused with the FSB (front side bus) or the pcie bus. As long as the motherboard supports the chip and socket (like socket 939) there's no problem.
