Asrock K7VM3

    this is the board i got http://www.asrock.com.tw/product/K7VM3.htm i hooked everything together but cant connect the on switch wires i no where they should go but its a 3 pinn and i dont have a 3 pin so i pulled the wires that are for the power and the pins so that they are seperate and have the (t) aand (-) but am not sure how to set it can spomeone giveme a hand

    the power switch is 2 wires whereas the power led can be 2 or 3 pin connector so which are you actually talking about?

    ok i didnt relize that there was a difference. im trying to connect the power switch but cant figure out where it goes.

    is there any body that can help

    on page 17, system panel connector, you want the pwrbtn# & gnd pins which are side by side. those 2 are your power button pins.

    ok i see. that is where i connect it to power on off the system

    I got the mother board working but now I'm not getting audio. Do I connect any jumpers and if so where and how many? This is for external audio.

    External audio as in not the PC speaker or external audio as in a PCI sound card or external audio as in a USB sound card?

    the on board audio is not working, i tookit back to the retailer and the gotit to work but upon disassemblingthey removedajumper but iamnot sure where they removedit from and where it goes

    I don't recall audio having jumpers, just connectors that attach to the front audio ports.

    i tried putting on a pci audio card and the board picks it up and installs it but i still dont get any soiund

    The connectors? Well there's usually a bank of pins on the motherboard alongside the USB headers and Power switch/LED plugs.
    This sort of thing:

    Usually they're labelled but if you're not sure, your motherboard manual will tell you.

    the book doesnt give us detail. it just gives the schematics and that is it
    that is y we are trying toi figurew out weree the pins belong

    does windows see the onboard sound card?

    thats the wierd part windows recognizes both the on board card and the pci card that i put in but am getting no sound

    i no the speakers work cause ive tried them on another comp
