I know this kind of question is asked all the time and Ive read alot of the other threads relating to this problem but none of them have really helped. I have a Asus DRW-1612BL and it used to work fine and read and write everything perfectly. But recently it cant read any dvds only Cds. Sometimes if i mess about with the writer it self it can read a dvd but after I eject it and try and put another one in, it cant find anything. Ive Updated the firmware and all that. And done that reinstalling the driver and IDE stuff. and it worked for like 10 minutes. I would really rather not buy a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
yeah sounds like the drive is going bad good new is new drves are pretty inexpensive 25 to 40 bucks. the better brands are Pioneer Lite-On Samsung
