   I downloaded a VLC media file with an asx extension. How to I burn this to a cd-r disc that will play when I put it into a drive?

   You need "asx to mp3 converter 1.69".
   
   shareware http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/save-_asx-files.html
   
   It's the only one I know that handles them, but there may be others.
