ati macrovision remover

    hi, am trying to back up a vhs casset of my friends to a dvd, when i try to record it from vhs to the pc using the Ati x800 xt all in wonder , it shows that the casset has protection on it, i have tried using an old - ati macrovision remover - but still didnt work, anyone know any current software to use, thanks

    The best way is to buy a full frame TBC. Not only will they improve the signal it will also remove Macrovision but they are around $200.

    Removing the Macrovision component of video tapes, can be done with a plain TBC (it doesn't necessarily need the frame synchronizer component)or a good PCI based real-time MPEG-2 encoder card. Good luck

    For the Price of a TBC you could Buy a a "Canopus ADVC-100/110" which has a Built in TBC and can disable Macrovision ....

    Pluss if you Buy a TBC you still need a Capture device to get the Video on your PC..
