haha are you kidding me of course it Crossfire compatible but are u sure u want to crossfire this single card cost almost $500 and the second question was the most stupid one i ever heard of. Of course it is way better then the Radeon 9550 256mb this card is a DDR3 it faster then DDR, and it Radeon's newest model so. Yes it is crossfire compatible.Its a big upgrade. The 9550 has a clock speed of 250mhz and memory at 400mhz where as the X1600XT has a clock speed of 590mhz and memory at 1.38gighz.
