I say go with the nVidia card. Their driver support is very very nice. I used to have ATI with Catalyst Drivers, and just because of that my system took like a minute to load.

Go with nVidia. The problem is...MSI are not very good video card manufacturers...they make good motherboards...but not so much video cards.

If you even consider wanting to try an alternate OS such as Linux, BSD, or hopefully OSX-86 later do NOT go with an ATI card. Their driver support for anything besides Windows is far behind Nvidia. OpenGL support is much better on Nvidia too, which means such things as Transgaming and WINE for Linux work much better on Nvidia than any ATI card.

I also think Nvidia's Windows drivers are much more stable. I remember a couple years ago having to downgrade ATI Catalyst drivers to play Neverwinter Nights, it wouldn't even play on the latest.

nvidia is the only card you can really ajust the color.ati is real bright and dull sort of whatvoodoo cards were a long time ago

you can adjust the intesity of the color.so if your like me and want to see alot of color in a games. you can turn up the color and make it more vibrant.on a ati card, plug it in ,you get what you get, no option to adjust the color. it called digital vibrance thats what makes nvidia rock out

it all boils down to fanboy vs. fanboy, as already seen in this thread. to get the most for your money, not only do you need to compare reviews, but benchmarks, vital statistics, and support. you might get recommendations here, but they're going to be quite biased. to find the best for yourself, you're really going to have to look for yourself. a fanboy can never point you in the right direction...they're too busy looking up towards w/e they worship to look down the path. :D

if your computer is fast it really wont matter that much.i have a rinky dink axp 2800+ that i overclocked to a 3000+ w\768ram and a 6800 gt agp video card and i can play most games on high.except fear i have to play on medium, but you were talking about sli motherboards so i guess your going to build a slammer.if you have 2 6800 ultras or 2 7800 gtxs even one gtx that comp will fly.and nvidia ,compare the color over 20 frames per second when your pushing 160 fps.who cares if ati can do 170 or 180 fps.the color vibrance means alot when your tring to get the best experience about what your playing.i had the best card ati put out for agp[x850xt][something like that.it was a faster then the 6800 gt i have now but the picture was so bright, like the brightness is cranked to high and the colors are real dull.if you want to check out both buy the ati from best buy, next day buy the nvida from best buy compare and take back the beat ati[lol] oh i mean bad card back to the store.they have a 30 day no hassle return policy.just say that the color is real bad.very true like the old voodoo cards ran fast but no color

my comments weren't aimed at you specifically, rugripper...it was more of a general observation. picking up both is a good idea. he could test them both, return them, then order one of the cheaper online :D
