ive been using nero premium 7.0.0. for a while now with no problems, until recently. Every audio cd i try burning jumps?, ive tried 2 different types of disk's which i believe if i remember correctly worked okay before. No errors are flagged up and nero says that the burn is succesful. Another thing ive noticed is that previousy when dropping mp3 files into nero to be burnt u could play them before burning, but now that option is not available, the play button on the bottom left is not highlighted when a audio track is selected!
I have tried re-installing nero 3 times now, even tried a system restore to an earlier date and this had still not resolved the issue.
Any help would be very welcome???
    thanks in advance

right, okay, ive done as you have suggested and i think i am a little closer to solving the problem. The mp3's that are dropped into nero now play (through bottom left button) now play. But ive just burned a audio disk and its still the same, jumping. I only have discrite 80min media with me at the present; could it possibly be the media?? i havent really used this media before; is it reliable, any good??

    thanks in advance

I have exactly the same problem, just noticed it since installing Nero 7.0.1.4b and using FFDshow Audio & Video codecs. Since using the codes, my out of sync video problem is ok, but now my cd's jump.

I'm pretty sure it's a codec issue, and you can rule out your writer\media like I did, by burning your audio cd to an image file, and playing that. My image file jumps, so it's either Nero or FFDshow.

Anyone got any idea, I am stuck :(

intresting, i remember install some codec's recently, cant remember what they were though. Ive unistalled all codecs and media players that i didnt recongise or use from the control panel>add remove programs.
I still have a problem with audio jumping. I have notice that if i play the mp3's through winamp there is no problem they dont jump, but if i drop them into nero to make an audio cd (into left panel) and highlight the select tune then play it through nero (without burning) the tune's actually jump???
strange, im thinking this is a conversion problem?????
Can anybody shed any light onto this matter???
    thanks in advance

I to have experienced audio jumping with nero 7 (and the last few versions of 6 as well) and found that if I convert the .mp3s over to a .wav file prior to setting up the burn I don't have the audio jumping problem. I'm no pro at this but it has worked for me every time so far. I use dBpowerAMP to do my coverting, you can get the program at: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

    Hopefully this helps

    HI,
firstly thanks for the suggestion but i think that would be some what counter productive.
Ive tried removing nero again, making sure the plugins directory was removed (c:\programfiles\commonfiles\ahead..etc)
    and re-installed again!
Same problem!! this is doing my head in!!

At what speed are you burning your CD's? I,ve found that on some players going ove 16X will cause the CD to skip when played back, This might work...

Right, ive just installed roxio easy cd and dvd creator, and it works perfectly making a audio cd! same audio tracks used as with the nero. I now presume its a problem with nero or its codecs, can anybody shed anylight on this matter or offer any assistance????
    thanks

Im burning at full speed 48x as that's what the disk are certified at! I dont think that is the problem as they were also burned at full speed with roxio and i had no probs! Im beginning to give up with nero....

Have you updated to the latest Nero 7.0.8.2 yet? I've got the latest 7.0.8.2 and everything is working smoothly without any glitches whatsoever. I can pretty much say that I've been doing great and satisfied with Nero so far, except their last version 7.0.5.4, which has tons of bugs. Other than that, I've always had success with Nero 7.

You can't have both Roxio and Nero on the same system. Roxio and Nero don't get along, meaning Roxio or InCD is pretty well known to have conflict with Nero most of the times. Therefore, you're likely to have some sort of issues while burning with Nero.

My suggestion is to get rid of Roxio or InCD (if you have it on your system as well) and try to burn with Nero alone. If that uninstalling both Roxio and InCD, Nero still failed to burn. Then post your Nero log, however REMEMBER to EDIT out your Nero SERIAL inprior to post your log in here.

I have only installed roxio after many attempts to get nero to work correctly, plus i do not have in-cd installed. Yes i do have the latest version that you mention. Ill have a bash at un-installing them both and just putting nero back on later on today, but as for posting the log is it really that important as no errors are flagged?
    thanks

Just my personal experience, some players don't like disks that have been burned above 20-24X, my computer has never ever had a problem with any speed, but my Pioneer car disk changer will jump from time to time with faster speeds, perhaps due to the extra vibration and jumps associated with being locked in a trunk in a moving vehicle???
Try running a little slower on your next burn and you should see a difference.

hi ive been having the same problem with audio cds skipping with ver 7.0.1.4b after searching the net ive found the problem to be the mp3pro dll file.
i deleted the mp3 pro dll file that came with 7.0.1.4b and replaced it with an earlier version.
the file is in audio plugins in common files on your c: drive the version that comes with 7.0 and above is 2.4 or something similar and you need to replace this file with ver 2.0.0.10.
since doing this i have been able to burn all my cds without skipping even at 48x and just to make sure everything else is ok dvds check out fine at 16x.
    hope this helps.

I tried the fix mentioned, but I notice that when I playback\encode mp3's the ffdshow audio icon appears in the taskbar, and therefore will be using that codec, any idea how I get around that.

I installed the k-lite codec pack, which fixed an out of sync video problem I had, and now I think it's caused this :(
