I am sorry if I am posting in wrong group. My dvd-rom reads every kind of disc, data, dvd,- except audio discs. WHen I click on my computer and then cd rom drive it opens and shows 0 bytes and empty. The real strange thing is if I use say, nero it reads it no problem and then when I go back to explorer or my computer, the tracks show up. Its as if the nero needs to use it before windows can see it. its not the drive as its NEC and pretty new. I checked the aspi layer and nero says both are fine. Anybody have any ideas or experiences like this. Thanks in advance. Lyle
Go into the properties of the drives which play cd's using your device manager. Make sure it's enabled with a check mark to play cd's. Do a restart and you should be fine.
I dont have a property in my drive that says play cds. I did remove the option about digital music and that did nothing. Lyle
You do have properties for each drive. Simply go into My Computer on your desktop or Start Menu and will pull up each of the drives you have. Then, right click with the drive of ocncern and click properties.
Here is what YOBUZZB was telling you to check, you could also set it to rip the cd or play it with another program.
gotcha. Still nothing. Windows media player, BSplayer, winamp- none of them work when I first put the disc in. Only after I use nero on the disc, then wmp, et.al., works.
Hi I had the same problem with a mp3 DVD, I tried changing loads of settings, the only thing that worked for me was doing a compurer reboot.
I put the audio disc in. I try opening it with explorer-no good. I try wmp-no good. I have the nero suite. I can either use any of the nero products such nero showtime or even nero info tool. any of nero's software works-it reads the disc and plays it. After that, explorer, windows media player, etc works. Lyle
