How do i transfer entire cd or tracks from a cd to pc & then use it later to make my own compilation.
Can I use nero for this or nero is just a burning software?
Do i need any special ripping software to do this or are there any freeware available without expiration.
Can i use roxio for this?

You probably already have Windows Media Player on your PC if your running Windows. Use that. it works as good as any.

Peshtigo is correct, in WMP Tools>Options>the "Rip Music" tab
I suggest changing ripping format to .mp3 with highest quality (320 Kbps)
Yes NERO will do it, in the Audio selections there is an option to Convert Audio CD's to Audio Files
I dont use Roxio but do know that many problems people have with burning/ripping process is due to the fact some Nero and Roxio drivers conflict in certain situations so uninstall either Roxio or Nero (keep what you like best) and very importantly, whichever you choose to delete, search online for an official uninstaller from their website.
Both Nero and Roxio has their own special program for cleaning up after its uninstall. Traces will be left in your registry if you dont.
