    Hi Gang,

A friend of mine has recently purchased a laptop with a cd rw drive fitted, she is running the lastest version of Nero and wishes to back up her audio cd's.

I have tried to assist her in this problem but every time we try to burn the formentioned files Nero says it does not reconise them as MP3 or Wav which I think it needs.

This is a new one on me as I have only ever burned using a normal PC fitted with two drives (copying on the fly I think its called).

I have checked the drive to make sure it works ok which it does and it also backed up data ok with no problems.

Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Why lose quality using a lossy format if you copy CD -> CD-R? Better use .wav format for temporary storage. Nero Plugins for (almost) all audio formats you could ever need you'll get http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org .

For copying audio CDs (and ripping CDs to mp3) I recommend Exact Audio Copy (EAC).
