Ok so I'm kind of new to this as this is my first post. but i have been doing my reading and have burned many back ups of my own movies including some of the most persistent sony dvds (r.i.p my wasted time on those suckers) but this is my first attempt at converting so here it goes... I have a movie and it is in An AVI format, ok so i tried converting the movie by first using avi2dvd... none of the 4 included encoders worked, they started off great but after the audio was done encoding the video was unable to encode due to an error. I then tried to use winAVI which i purchased and it worked on both audio and video and i used nero 6 to burn and it worked video is crystal but audio is currupt. I tried changing audio bitrate i used all available settings and all turned out the same. after that i tried burning the out put files with dvdshrink. used the preview from shrink and sound is perfect but yet again when i burn the movie the audio is currpt (by currpt i mean i hear the sound but it is not making up anything clearly. .AND now for my last attempt which was witch nero vision express 3 which encodes and burns within itself by making it a mpeg 1 or 2 I'm not to sure on that, and i bet you can guess how the audio turned out. but any way i've wasted way to many blank dvd+r's so please if anyone could let me know any suggestions please let me know of my mistakes THANKS
hi does the avi play ok before encoding? try useing TFM the film machine, same type of app as avi2dvd but better - http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=41492 also what codecs you got installed? i use K-LITE MEGA codec pack http://www.free-codecs.com i think it is? and instal / tick the lot on install...
cua1009, Did you discover why your audio is screwed up after converting from avi. I am having the same exact problem. My xvid and divx codecs are the latest. moomee
