I'm pretty embarrassed having to ask this here, since this was completely my fault because I was being stupid. But my laptop recently got a bad virus, and while I was going through and deleting programs I thought weren't needed (I don't know why) I was clicking things too fast and accidentaly uninstalled my audio software. I feel dumb beyond belief.

But I'm running XP, and it was SigmaTel C-Major audio software. I've looked in a lot of places, but usually all I can find are drivers, but not the software. I went to device manager and tried getting it to automatically reinstall, but it said it needed a CD, which I don't have.
Does anyone know where I can get this software, or whatever I need to get sound back on my computer? Thank you, and please tell me if I haven't given enough information.

What is the make and model of your laptop? Most likely you can find the software and drivers on the manufacturer's website. If not, do you have any of the CD's that came with the laptop?

    Edit:
Have you tried doing a system restore? This method is only recommended if you can't find the software, since you'll have to mess with the virus again. Of course, if you did a good job of cleaning the virus, then you would have wiped out your restore points.
