This is REALLY bad; I had downloaded many flv files from YouTube long ago, and now when I go to play them back (VLC Player - older version) every one of the little buggers is 'stuttering' on playback. In other words it will play a few seconds and then both the picture and audio will repeat little 1/4 second snippets like 3 or 4 times and then play a few seconds and then continue to do the same thing.

I've used 'AlltoAVI' to convert the flv files to AVI files which do the EXACT same thing on playback

I had played these exact same flv files before and they were perfectly fine and I have changed nothing. I even tried using Virtual dub with the AVI files and extracting the audio as a WAV file (which mysteriously plays PERFECTLY on Winamp) but when I try to re-integrate the audio with the video (either Direct Stream or Uncompressed) the resulting AVI file continues to do the same thing.

It sure would be NICE to be able to play these files again!

Thank you kindly for any help you can give me!

Download graphstudio and open one of the converted avi files (render media file)

Hit the play button. Does the problem still occur? If so,
take a screen print of the graphstudio main window and put it in here.

    Hey Dave!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and help me; fortunately, I was jumping the gun a bit. The more I played my media files, EVERY one of the li'l buggers was doing the exact same thing. I began to realize that it must be some weird OS thing. So, I rebooted and sure enough it THANKFULLY disappeared.

Sorry to have troubled you here, but it was such a DANG strange occurrence that I panicked thinking my media files that I'd been collecting for years suddenly would not play properly.

    Thanks so much again mate!!!
