I have been wrecking my brain trying to solve an issue with a MOV file. It seems the file used to be a 2 part file that was joint. If i play the with VCL it works fine for half of it then the sound goes mute. I have to go into AUDIO and switch to "Track 2". However, when converting to DVD with XTO DVD application I get the same problem. The DVD plays ok for half of it then the sound goes mute, like when playing with VCL, only with the DVD player I have no option to change to track 2. I even open the MOV file in Adobe Premiere but the sound seems to be layed all on one track. Any suggestion ???
Try opening/dragging the mov file in Avidemux. Assuming the audio is one track, save the audio as a .wav file (you must give it the full name e.g. audio.wav) Play it and see if it's ok. Then use it as the audio source for the dvd. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/avidemux.cfm
Thank for the input unfortunately, It does not work. When I load the file it say the file has MULTIPLE tracks and asks me to pick the main track in the audio settings. So I pick the first track. I play the movie, and sure enough at the same point 1:21:57.781 ( the point I believe where the movie was joined) the sound disappears. So back at square one. One thing I was able to do and that split the file at the exact point by using by using AVS video converter. So now I have the first part Ok. Now I have to figure a way to get part two out and one way or the other find the audio track. So far no luck
In Avidemux if you save the first track then the second track you can join them with another utility.
Tried it. But no luck. The newly formed file the audio is progressively getting out of sync. I then tried to split the movie in two file at the exact point where the change would occur. The first file is ok. but the second the audio is out of sync. I will need to find a good editor that show the movie in time line format, including audio track, hopefully i can see both tracks or stream of the audio and maybe joint them there. Thank you for you help anyway I really appreciate it
