I have copied a home movie into .avi format. The movie is 2 hours and 27 GIG. The video and audio match and there is no issue. I have tried to convert to DIVX and Nero Digital and as the file gets closer to the end, the audio and video start getting out of sync. I ran the source file through GSpot and it's telling me the following... "Corrupt AVI Header - This is an invalid AVI file due to corruption of the data in the header. This is a serious problem, and this file is not likely to playable. Details - While processing chunk /RIFF:AVI, found bad length value 1069380612 at file offset 0x00007ff8" I thought this message was odd since the file is playable with no issues. The source file was recorded via a Digital8 camera playing a Hi8 tape using Firewire. Let me know what other info you need. Thanks for the help Josh
Do you have plenty of disk space? Open the DV avi in virtualdub and set video and audio to direct stream copy. Then file/save as avi. Test the new avi and see if it's in better shape.
