Using an ATI 9200 Capture card, and supplied VCR recorder program to copy Scifi Friday. Recorded in DVD high level mode, {1 hour show = 1GB} Playback of the original file on the computer is fine. Audio level matches all other videos, games etc. (Advance Volume controls are ALL set at less then 1) Edit the shows with TMPGenc Mepg Edit. Author with TMPGenc Author, burn with Nero 6.0. Video looks great. Audio is 3x, or plus, louder than normal. What can cause this ?? Should I split the video and audio, run audio thur a mixer and reduce the volume levels ? Will this then sync back with the video after being altered ? Why would audio levels change ? Have authored other DVDs from AVI files using TMPGenc Plus , Author, and Nero (no editing needed) just fine. Maybe something in the edit program ? I'm just learning to use it, but it seems fairly simple. Thanks for any help. !!
I did a compilation once and some files had LOUD sound no matter what, even when I mute the TV. One the PC everything played fine. I do not know what caused this, but it may be the file format, (avi, mpeg, wmv, etc...). This happened when I used Nero to encode the files. I think you may need to split the sound from the video. I think I used dvd2avi for this. It creates a .wav file and a .d2v file. You load the .d2v (a small file size) as the video source and the .wav as the sound source in TMPGEnc and it will sync it. This is usually a long process. It should take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours for the sound depending on your CPU. If it doesn't work, try the method you suggested. You may need to get some extra software though.
