i have made over a hundred dvd to vcd conversions with no problems at all, why i havnt changed any of the settings at all, so why would the audio be out of sync with the picture, some time by 10 or 15 seconds, does anyone have any explanation for this.
Usually caused by a damaged video stream. The ecoding process would go fine until it reaches the damaged area and would then probably skip over it. It might only be a few frames but, when you think there are over a 100,000 frames in most movies, a few frames here and there will throw the audio out pretty far. Other possible causes are, using the computer during the encoding process or using a seperate program to encode the audio and then multiplexing! Out of sync problems can be a nightmare!
this is what i am doing: 1) rip using smart ripper 2) dvd2avi 3) vfapi convert 4) toolame 5) vdub 6) tpmpeg and after that is done is use bb mutiplex 7) use nero to vcd. is there a simpler way to achive the same results, also is dvd wizard pro still around, that had to be the best site ever. any help would be appreciated
Thats a lot of processes. Cut it down to Smart Ripper, DVD2AVI, TMPGEnc & nero. http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd2vcd_with_smart_dvd2avi_tmpgenc.cfm When it was written there was an older TMPGEnc but it's still fine!
