first off i'm not new to encoding i know how to strip the uncompressed vbr with virtual dub, etc. but i still have a problem syncing a video i'm putting on a dvd.

this is what i've done so far:

-loaded video file in virtualdub (improper vbr blah, blah message)then did audio>full proccessing. then muxed .wav and video. still off sync.
-loaded in vdub again video>direct stream copy then i tried directly converting audio into mp3 128, 160, 192. (vbr was 172) still off sync.
-used ffmpeg to convert source audio directly into ac3 audio and directly burn dvd.
-used ffmpeg to convert uncompressed source .wav from vdub into ac3 and lay on m2v.

nothing seems to work, any thoughts on how to fix this would be appreciated.

i tried something with that program but it never finishes it just keeps encoding when it gets to the last seconds. it says the whole "dropping gop. resyncinding video at 43:01" and it keeps displaying that message over and over. so i just hit cancel. it would be nice if someone could give me a walk through from source file to finish. or perhaps link me to a guide.
    thanks
