Hi, i've been trying to rig my tv via its "audio out" sockets to my hi-fi, alas without much success. Does having a vcr and sat decoder hooked up to the tv [via scart] somehow cut power to audio out on the tv?
Many TVs have a menu where you must turn the TVs internal speakers off manually to activate the the audio out...older one's will have a toggle switch in the rear panel by the other inputs/outputs.
Thanks Gerry, I tried that already but no joy. Can hook everything up to the hi-fi via the video, but was curious as to why tv outputs wont work.
Yes, onboard (TV) audio often must be disabled to activate line-out audio. But then, line-out often has 2 modes to choose from: Line Level (or full-volume) and Variable (or controlled by the remote control setting, ie. less than full line-level). Hoolyuk you might have it setup correctly, but your volume is not line-level and cannot be heard... so check that out, it's more likely than your audio-out being 'broken'. Hope you get it going, Regards
