Ok, i used Virtual DubMod and this is what is says when i open the video file VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file(audio Stream 1) The corrent preference is to rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 28506 of skew from the video stream.IF this is unacceptle decompress the entire audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder Also what would i need to fix the problem Thanks
What problem? If it is asking if you would like to rewrite the header, press no. If it is asking if you would like to keep the header, press yes.
But what does it mean..and like will it compromise my audio and also i can't combine 2 video files because of it
It means that your avi contains VBR audio which strickly speaking shouldn't be in an avi. I have encoded and joined plenty of avi's contain VBR mp3 audio, so no it shouldn't adversly effect the audio. But like I said VBR audio in an avi container, esp. when dealing with ACM is not such a good idea. If you just want to join, try AVIMuxGUI.
A suggestion: extract the VBR AVI sound of a movie as an uncompressed WAV. Then run HeadAC3he, load that WAV , choose as 'destination format' MP3 and [click options] use the CBR profile, which will create a MP3 128 kbps CBR. Them load the bad AVI with VirtualDubMod, do Stream__Stream List, Disable the original sound, load the CBR MP3 you just made. Set video_direct stream copy, so the video will remain the same, and Save (F7). You have replaced, in that AVI, the VBR MP3 audio with a CBR 128 kbps audio, loaing few minutes with no video quality loss.
