I've been trying to convert some avi files (avatar season 2) to dvd using Nero Vision 4. So far I have converted several other avi files and never ran into a video/audio sync problem. What seems to happen is as soon as i load the avi into nero vision the video starts to lag up but the audio runs smoothly. I have read on this forum that i should run the avi through klite codec, i have no idea what that means. I have klite codec and I have tried doing the Avi Fixed tool and it shows nothing as being wrong. The avi file works perfectly when played in avi format on any number of media players. Any help would be great. I am not getting a failed burn, so no error log file, it is a succesful burn, but then the audio and video do not sync up.

    1) You need codecs for decoding and encoding video files. K-Lite Codec Pack basically is just a pack of codecs to facilitate programs like Nero in decoding and encoding.

    2) Nero is just not much of an encoder. You may try e.g. VSO ConvertXToDVD which is much more reliable.

    Good luck!

Thx ConvertX is great it converted the file perfectly. Now my dilemma is whether I should buy it instead of Nero.

VSO is superb when it comes to encoding. Nero is very solid in terms of burning.
