Okay got a weird one here. Just installed a fresh demo copy of windows 64 pro via microsucks website. I have tried nividia and realtek audio drivers with the same thing. When Im playing music or even loading windows and the beggining music plays...the music stutters. Its like a cd skipping kinda thing. Like its losing its place or freezing. The music is stored on a hard drive on a separate channel than windows is on. Could that be it? It dont do it with regular windows xp.

The hard drives are running through a promise card. So it dont show under device manager, but when it boots up and promise goes through it checks...its on ultra dma 5 mode. I really dont get why this is acting like this.

Problem solved. Goddamn promise card was no fricking good. Got rid of it and now all is good. The only prob now is no printer driver, but other than that all is well. Thanks to all who posted. 64 bit rocks...:>

I would bet that Promise card would work in Windows XP. You are fooling around with an alpha OS. Not everything is going to work.

nope the card started causing stutter in reg xp. im using the newest release of pro 64. it is a trial, but its complete. plus 64 did have a driver built into the disc for the card. So if its doing it on both then its the card. Plus now my mpegs are clearer and look better. plus everythimg is running better on both os's. So its gotta be a bad card. Or my comp dont like it...lol. i love 64. it feels different and it runs sweet. glad i caught the problem. I just gotta crank the clock back up and im set. I turned it down thinking it was the oc causing problems. :>

Nope your wrong. I was using the win 64 pro cd trial downloaded from windows and they had a driver built into the cd. All I did is pushed f6 and boot 32 xp drivers for the promise during install. Then of course windows said it had better drivers...so I let windows install with those. It was definetly a bad card cause it started to do it on reg xp. I did hvae a dual boot system going, but decided to set up raid. And I cant find nividia raid drivers for 64 boot to use during install.
