I just bought Nero6 software as well as downloading a trial version of another recorder. I'm trying to record directly from the in line (Microphone line in). I seem to be able to record but when I play it back the sound can barely be heard. I've burned a music CD from my CD Rom with no sound problems. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the input levels are set too low.
Have a look in your Audio mixer utility.

Check for line input being set high enough - and if it is too low, try raising the leve up to just off full level.
Win 98 - Start/settings/control panel/multimedia, check "show control on taskbar".
    WinXP - start/settings/control panel/Sounds.
    Same option.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. That's exactly the problem.
