How do I directly record audio if my audio recording panel only has line in, rear mic and microphone for me to use? Maybe I need a driver? I use Sigmatel.

depending on what you want to record - a line in or mic in socket and something to plug into them should be what you need. Maybe some software.

some software has a "record what you hear" function

give us some more info about what you want to do and we might be able to help you out better

I want to record video and audio from an application (Windows Media Player for example) using Camtasia Recorder. The video is good, but the sound doesn't work. I need to record sound directly from Windows Media Player, not through a mic. My teacher's computer has something called wave out, which makes camtasia able to record the audio.
