I have a CD that sounds horrible. Its muffled and flat (Yes, Yesterdays). I want to be able to set equalization on it and rip it with the new settings but I just cant seem to find a program to do it.

Any help would be really appreciated

    Thanks In advance

The 2 best rippers are EAC and dbPowerAmp if the CD is in an accurip database dbPA is by far the best if not, EAC is the best.

Is your CD burned or pressed?

If it is pressed and the surface is badly scratched you might want to resurface if you can't get a good rip. If it is burned, check out the Tau analyzer in the top sticky in this forum. The CD is probably burned with junk audio which can't be helped. That is the most common cause of flat CDs.

    What do you mean
? Are you distorting the original copy? It is a far better practice to rip true then play equalized. That is part of the process of how you get junk burned CDs.

Have you looked inside the speakers?..LOL!.
As stated rip properly and use a lossless format, and then play equalized..You can of course edit the file(s) if you like..But I'd keep a copy of the original un-altered version..

OK, I suspect it is a bad pressing. The die should have been removed long before your disk has pressed. Computer readers can read much better than even HiFi CD players. That is your only hope of getting a descent rip which may not be possible.

I would also run the Tau analyser.
