on some of the newer dvd releases i'm ending up with audio sync problems after the encoding to xvid is complete. i use dvddecryptor and autogk. its only been a handful of new dvd releases i've had some trouble with. i've used this combination of apps successfully for almost 2 years now. i always check the vob's before converting to xvid and the audio is fine. i'm looking for an explanation to the problem and a suggestion for an app that will remedy this with a tutorial. videoredo has been suggested to me but i've yet to make it work properly either before encoding or on the finished avi. any help would be appreciated.

VideoReDo will only edit mpeg files at the moment- avi support is planned. Here are some guides and how-to explanations from the VRD site: http://videoredo.seedwiki.com/wiki/...N=36713394&jsessionid=c2303167431160942620269

You're best trying a couple of other programs for the conversions. Two I can recommend are Mpeg Mediator SE http://www.divxland.org/software.php (near the bottom of the page) and Super http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=SUPER_1

With Mpeg Mediator you select your vobset, choose your video/ audio plugins and settings and output file, add to joblist (batch conversion is supported) and convert. You can even resize the picture very easily too.

Super is slightly more complicated but well worth having. It will convert between most formats you can think of- and it does it very well.

    Both these programs are freeware.
