   I've been trying to burn some AVI files to DVD but although the picture is perfect in the resulting DVD,the sound is fractionally out of sync with the picture.This is especially so if I burn 2 or more files to the same DVD.
   
   Any suggestions ?

   Nero is not very good at encoding. You may try e.g. VSO (free version) instead:
