Hi, I am new to all this so please bear with me. I have looked at some previos threads and notice that its possible to convert cd audiobooks but is it possible to somehow compress these files? I have a book here and it has 10 cd's and no doubt it takes up a whole load of space and dont know if my Nano will take it. is it possible to use some software to shrink it down like when I rip dvd's?
Well if it just speech and no music, you can get away with a low compression, like 32kbps. TWiT(podcast) is iver an hour long and with 33kpbs compression the file size is 15.62MB.
well I am pleased with myself! it may be not much to most but i actually managed last night to get 10 cd's (1 book) onto the i pod . sounds good as well. save me having to actually do anything on the beach except stick the ear plugs in!
well I couldnt work out how to put all 10 cd's on as one book so i ended up putting 10 cd's on individually!! (have since worked out how to do it) each 1 hours woth of spoken cd worked out to be about 15 MB. dont really know if thats good or not but i have now put 2 books on in total (that's 20 hours woth) along with photos and music and there still seems to be plenty of space
