Authoring DivX/MP4 movies onto DVD discs

    I am trying recode my dvd movies to get 5 or 6 divx/mp4 movies onto a dvd disc to play on my divx/mp4 compliant portable player.I have tried using nero recode to do this and my dvd player recognizes the files but will not play them.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Is there an easier way?
    Could someone please advise.

    i thought that as long as the files were already divx you didnt need to convert them but just burn them as data for the dvd player to read them

    Hi andmerr,unfortunately I do not have any DivX coded movies as I only have the MPEG2 coded originals which I have unsuccessfully been trying to convert to DivX.

    ok have you tried the tutorials in the guides section for converting dvd to divx
