    Hi

I have made an mp3 recording of an LP. Is there any sofware out there that will auto detect the gaps between tracks? Its going to take forever.

I have an ION turntable that came with Audacity and EZ Vinyl Converter.

Also when i recored using EZ Converter it doesn't automatically take me to Gracenote for the track inf, any idea why?

    Nick

MP3DirectCut can autodetect but I would just do it visually.

Yeah I would do it manually. When I transferred some of my vinyl, I just recorded the whole side of each album. Then went back and broke each song down and named them. You can also clean up the beginning and ends of each song. It's a slow process any way you do it. I didn't use an Ion; I used my perfectly good Dual turntable and pc sound card in puts along with adaptec's sound editor. Since there is no digital info for the tracks of vinyl LPs, gracenote won't recognize the tracks.

mp3tag can import tag info from freedb and amazon if your album is there after the capture and cut. Even if it is not there, at least you can bulk tag the artist and album.
