automatic updates need help

    hi i need help i cant get my automatic updates to come on the sheild stays red ive tried everything its telling me to and nothing i cant even find it in services to switch it back on in there can someone please help me as ive given up trying to find a solution for this... it wont even let me update through mircosoft it tells me theres a error and look to find a solution but theres nothing and its tells me the same thing over and over thanks everyone ..........shaunb

    Are you able to connect to the internet? It would also be helpful to know which OS you are using...XP, Vista etc.

    hi im using windows xp and im trying to get my automatic updates back on as they wont update they keep telling me theres a error but i cant find it ive done virus check and spyware ad aware and all that but i still cant get my updates back on .....

    Which version of XP are you using...SP2, SP3, Media Center Edition? Is this a new installation?

    sp2 mate the red sheild just stays on instead of being yellow i think this is why my drivers arent updating as my clone dvd2 and shrink isnt working properly...
