Because I would like to place my new(still to be bought) A/V receiver out if sight, I am looking for a model which has a standard remote with RF technology (radio frequency) so I can use the remote even if there is no line of sight. Anybody knows of any brands/models?
Not sure if some of the high end receivers come with RF remotes or not. I know RF remotes aren't cheap. You can get a Harmony 880 or 890 remote. They are RF. but they're not cheap. They will run all your equipment, and are very wife friendly. You program them online (type in model numbers of equipment), and download to the remote, via USB cable. Check at Amazon.com for one.
