Available space for new iPods

    Hi there friends. My new 30GB iPod says that it has 27.79 GBs available, and 28.4 MBs used. Is this normal? What is the 28.4? And am I smoking crack, or is that less than 30GB all together anyway? I was screwing around trying to copy songs through "My Computer", so I just want to make sure that I didn't screw something up. Thanx for helping a novice, any assistance is much appreciated.

    No worries, you didn't screw anything up, mate. The iPod Software needs that extra 1.5 gigs of memory to store the firmware, games, etc. on the iPod, so this is absolutely normal. ;-)
