avg antivirus update causes windows not to load

I recently updated my avg antivirus and it causes my computer to crash when i restart windows. This is the only update that says i have to restart my computer in order for the update to be active. When i restart everything is fine untill i see my desktop for about 30 seconds, then my computer crashes, the only way i can get it to run is by having the windows cd in the cd drive and then it tells me it changed a file. Does anyone know how to fix this?

System restore does work but i need the real solution

 

the newer version released does not cause my system to crash, must have been a bug in the anitivirus.
But it did only do it my personal pc, not any others that i use

try uninstalling avg and see if this is the actual problem, if it still crashes without avg then it is somthing else.

 

it was avg that caused mine to crash, i un-installed AVG and then installed another antivirus and everything was fine.
But then when avg came out with the new version they have available for download at their site everything is ok
