Hello, I am getting the indicated message from AVG. Cannot update anymore because the updated file is damaged. I have tried many things with no luck including the following that I found in AVG forum: 1. Download the latest AVG Free installation package from [free.grisoft.com] 2. Run the AVG Free install file 3. Choose the Uninstall option and follow the setup wizard, when you get to the part to remove user settings, select it. 4. Restart your computer then... 5. Now reinstall AVG using the setup file you got in step 1 and update it. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ found many infections but when cleaning the computer their program simply stops. I find hard to believe that with ZA, AVG and AVG AS my computer has so many infections. I tried shutting down ZA but no luck either. Any suggestions?
Hello cmaldona, You said HouseCall found many infections. This could be the main problem/s. Let's see if we can find and rid those. Download HijackThis. Unzip(extract) the file to a permanent folder. Open HiajckThis.exe and click "Do a system scan and save a logfile". Post that log here.

Okay, log looks good, but that doesn't mean your computer is clean. We'll wait on checking into it more though. You said you found the things you tried on the AVG forums, so I'm sure you know this error means "Class not registered". I can't seem to find a real solution to this error. Mostly what I see is people saying it's nothing harmful and as long as AVG is working properly then everything should be okay. But I know if I get the same error all the time is get really annoying so just going with it is out of the question. There's something different though, you say it won't allow you to update...correct? Can you download the definitions from the site and install them manually? Get them here. Also, are you using version 7.0 or 7.5?
In that case, I'm sorry, but I don't have a real solution to fix the error. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
