AVI Audio Problem

    Hi people, currently I am trying to get the opening theme song for a avi file, but how do I just convert the audio, but not the video, so that I can play it on winamp, thank you

    If the audio ware a conventional Mp3 audio you should be able to hear it.
    So I suppose the AVI has AC3 audio. In thic case, you must either instal a codec like AC3 filter or decmux the audio (e.g VirtualDubMod; Stream___Stream List --> Demux) and convert it to MP3 with, for instance, HeadAC3he.
    After, with the AVI open in VirtualDubMod do:
    1) remove the AC3 audio: Stream___Stream List --> Disable the AC3 stream
    2) add the MP3 new stream: Stream___Stream List --> Add the MP3.

    Then put video=direct steram copy and Save (F7).

    For the MP3 choose (pressing [options >>] a couple of times], the 'Alt CBR' preset). The AC3 will become a 128 kbps CBR MP3 stream.
