Right, here is my problem. I followed the guides on this site to convert an Avi file to DVD-R. The video footage works but theres no audio, so now I need to know how to get the Audio off the avi. file and put it onto CD so I can play it on the Hi-Fi whilst watchin the video footage. Bit silly you might think but I can't use another DVD to try again. Btw, I downloaded the K-Lite Codec Pack after the audio didn't work, if that helps at all. Thanks in advance.

Which program did you use for the conversion?

do you have the right codecs?

I found (through searching here) a prog called g-spot, which tells you exactly how the avi file has been encoded, and what codecs you need.

    1) for missing codecs: download K-Lite Codec Pack (full version):

    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm

    2) for transcoding from avi: try VSO DivxToDVD (free program)

    3) for changing audio codec of avi: try X video converter or power video converter (just google for them)
