Hello everyone, I really hope someone can help. I have got an avi movie file which Im trying to burn onto DVD using NERO 6. When it gets about half way through the transcoding and burning procedure it just freezes up. The progress bar stays where it is but the timer keeps going. I dont understand why it wont burn it, I have no problems watching the file on my pc. Does anyone have any ideas.
If the avi was downloaded, then it may contain errors at places (tho' not visible on viewing). You may try any or a combination of the following methods: 1) use a video fixing program to fix the errors (not 100%) 2) transcode and burn with a more flexible program (e.g. DVDSanta) 3) identify and cut away the corrupted parts (e.g. DVDSanta, X video converter) Good luck!
hi use/try divxtodvd its a free fast app just to check it out, it will make vob/ifo/bup for burning... also try DIVFIX on strip rebuild to check/correct errors... but i use film machine or avi2dvd for avi to dvd, free apps with encoders...
be carefull tho when you use divx to dvd, in my past experience if nero wont transcode it but divxtodvd or windvd creater will you usually end up with the video and audio out of sync. transcode the movie to a hard drive file first then review the finnished result before burning it to disc. i cant watch movies that are out of sync, before i linked the timing problem with errors i ended up with a load of coasters.
