I am currently experiencing problems with the sound after burning AVI files using Nero Vision.

For some reason the sound is 3 - 4 seconds out of sync with the picture. Any ideas how I can put this right.

why not try ConvertXtoDVD to do your conversion of avi files to dvd format! it's the best out there:
    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

should correct your sound/sync problem! unless your downloaded avi files are corrupted or of bad quality then it won't matter!

If you have a viewer to check the AVI source, I'd suggest that before going through all the software changes. I've used both ConvertXtoDVD and Nero Vision with good success. If the source checks out okay, then iHoe's suggestion has merit. It doesn't hurt to try another app when one doesn't do the job. That's why I have more than one. Unless they changed it, the VSO trial leaves a logo message on the output. So, the trial is only good to tell you if you want to purchase the app or not. Surprisingly, a badly named app does a good job as well, at least according to one of my Addict friends who uses it more than I do. DVDSanta is supposed to be a good conversion app. The person who named it that must have had Christmas on the brain.
