New at this, so forgive the question if its stupid! Is it possible to convert .avi files to a dvd format, and burn them to cd and play them on a DVD player? I dont have a DVD player for the PC, but I do have one for my TV. If this is possible, how do I do it and what do I need to be able to? Thanks
This is almost perfectly possible, but instead of using DVD-RAM discs, you obviously have to use regular CDs. Results are called normally miniDVDs or something similiar. But instead of creating miniDVDs I recommend you to try if your DVD player can play VideoCDs (most of them can) -- just basically encode your AVI files into VideoCD format with TMPGEnc and burn them to VCD with some CD burning program like Ahead's Nero. TMPGEnc can be found from here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/tmpgenc.cfm ...more information about how to use it, you can find from our article section, in here: http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/
